UNDERSTANDING ARGUMENTATIVE

Helowww guys, aku kembali lagi nih membawa materi baru Bahasa Inggris yang tentu saja akan kubagikan untuk kalian guna menambah ilmu kalian guys. By the way, How are you guys? Are you okay? I hope you are well and happy always. Setelah materi ANALYTICAL TEXT, kali ini aku akan membagikan materi tentang ARGUMENTATIVE TEXT.

Tanpa lama lagi aku akan memulai sekarang guys. Seperti biasa hal yang akan ku bahas pertama kali adalah definisi atau pengertian dari argumentative text. Ini dia penjelasannya guys.

1.      Definition

a.       Argumentative text refers to text that takes a position about an idea or topic.

b.      The position can be for or against an idea, and the author of the text will support his or her position with extensive evidence. Some ideas to keep in mind while reading argumentative text are the claims, the evidence, and the audience.

Nah diatas itu adalah pengertian dari argumentative text. Aku yakin Sebagian besar dari kalian sudah tau pengertian dari argumentative text, tetapi apakah kalian sudah tau fungsi dari argumentative text? Hayooo pasti ada yang belum tahu kan, yasudah tanpa basa basi lagi ini dia penjelasan tentang fungsinya. Simak dengan baik guys.

2.      Fuction/purpose

a.       To organize and present your well.

b.      Reasoned conclusion in order to persuade the audience to accept.

c.       Seriously consider your point of view.

Itu dia guys fungsi atau tujuan dari argumentative text. Jika kalian akan membuat argumentative text pastikan kalian menentukan tujuan yang tepat, diantaranya seperti penjelasan diatas tadi. Setlah mempelajari fungsi dari argumentative text, di langkah selanjutnya aku akan memberikan bagaimana urutan atau langkah langkah yang benar dalam menyusun argumentative text. Ini dia penjelasan tentang text structure dari argumentative text.

3.      Text structure

a.       Introductory paragraph. The first paragraph of your essay should outline the topic, provide background information necessary to understand your argument, outline the evidence you will present and states your thesis.

b.      The thesis statements. This is part of your first paragraph. It is a concise, one-sentence summary of your main point and claim.

c.       Body paragraphs. A typical argumentative essay comprises three or more paragraphs that explain the reasons why you support your thesis. Each body paragraph should cover a different idea or piece of evidence and contain a topic sentence that clearly and concisely explains why the reader should agree with your position. Body paragraphs are where you back up your claims with examples, research, statistics, studies, and text citations. Address opposing points of view and disprove them or explain why you disagree with them. Presenting facts and considering a topic from every angle adds credibility and will help you gain a reader’s trust.

d.      Conclusion. One paragraph that restates your thesis and summarizes all of the arguments made in your body paragraphs. Rather than introducing new facts or more arguments, a good conclusion will appeal to a reader’s emotions. In some cases, writers will use a personal anecdote explaining how the topic personally affects them.

Sesudah ini aku akan memberikan dua contoh argumentative text. Satu contoh aku dapat dari internet dan satu lagi aku membuat sendiri dengan kalimat yang sederhana.

The culture of bullying is very dangerous for the growth and development of children. Bullying can damage the future and make them passive and apathetic towards themselves and their environment. Actually, bullying has been going on since ancient times and no one knows when the culture of bullying started

The danger that can be caused by bullying is so great for children, children who are victim bullying who continues to get pressure. They will be afraid to socialize and interact with other people. As a result, they began to distance themselves from their environment. So that there are children who lack confidence or even worse, children who become stressed.

Therefore, stay away from and monitor bullying be savior in the children's environment so that their future is not destroy and they become active and accomplished children.
